Electrical testing services across North West England

Besides electrical system installations, maintenance and repairs, we at SJ Barton also undertake electrical testing for all commercial, industrial and domestic buildings throughout the North West.

From incoming utility supply down to the final circuits, we provide a comprehensive electrical testing service in all aspects of fixed wiring and electrical systems in accordance with the British Wiring Regulations and lectrical safety.

PAT testing

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT testing) involves a series of electrical and visual inspections on all portable appliances in a workplace. These tests determine whether or not the electrical appliances are fit for purpose and safe for use.

As an employer, you are responsible for the safety and condition of the equipment handled by your employees. If a faulty piece of equipment injures an employee, you can be held liable and face a costly insurance claim.

In order to prevent this from happening, we can test all portable appliances to ensure their safe working condition, as well as identify and repair equipment that may be faulty.

What appliances need to be PAT tested?

All portable appliances with a mains plug need to be tested. Some examples include:
  • Computers and screen monitors requiring mains power
  • Audio and telephone equipment
  • Kitchen appliances, such as kettles and microwaves
  • Vacuum cleaners
  • Extension leads
We are an NICEIC registered company and are fully authorised to carry out electrical and PAT testing for all commercial, industrial and domestic premises.
